Day two kicks off at 1:30 with The Diamond Jubilee National Hunt Steeplechase. It’s a race in which the amateur riders get to shine and today’s twenty runner field looks a very tricky contest. Willie Mullins thinks that the distance will suit his horse Alee Garde and it would be great for his son Patrick to get a Festival winner after he lost yesterdays Cross Country horse Scotsirish. Willie Mullins also saddles Soll and the lightly raced horse will be ridden by Katie Walsh. Nina Carberry has been booked to ride the Mouse Morris trained Four Commanders and could also go close.

Nineteen runners go to post for the Grade One Neptune Investments Novice Hurdle and the Noel Meade trained Monksland looks set to play a big part. His form was massively been boosted after Lyreen Legend won recently at Thurles. Check out the YouTube video below to see what Noel Meade

Downpatrick Quick Tips

Wednesday, 07 March 2012 13:54

2:15        Leighinmohr – can give Ben Dalton another winner.

2:45        Charlie’s Vic – She should justify her very short odds.

3:15        Oscar Hill – Ran a nice race when third last time out, should be enough in a weak looking contest.

3:45        Up The Girls – Should go one better than Punchestown.

4:15        Dizzy Rascal – You would be bonkers to ignore him today around a track he loves.

4:45        Spring Lane – Won’t take much to improve from his second at Catterick last week.

Happy Punting – Giddy Up
