I feel this whole saga has taken its toll on Dalglish; he returned to Liverpool to steady the ship following Roy Hodgson's dreadful time on Merseyside, and instead has found himself embroiled in an issue that, for the most part, is out of his control.
What is very much in Dalglish's control, however, is how he conducts himself in front of the world's media, and lately - not just on Saturday - he hasn't found the answers expected of him.
As for Suarez, the handshake issue was a strange one. Issue must be raied with Patrice Evra, as footage since has shown that his hand was not outstretched to shake. Whether Suarez's was either is another matter, but after being the victim of racial abuse at Anfield, the Frenchman was partly to blame here.
However, the apology issued by the Liverpool duo will, hopefully, put the matter to bed, and the FA have acted in kind by not punishing either club for what happened during the handshakes.
Liverpool has far more pressing issues at hand, namely arresting a recent slide to seventh place in the table.
Chelsea and Arsenal are fallible, and considering their outlay on players last summer, it'll be a real opportunity missed if Liverpool doesn’t end up back in Europe's biggest club competition.
Alyhough Suarez is quite a controversial player, he is in contention to becoming Liverpools top scorer this season. Click the Bet Now button for the latest Liverpool specials.
