Dessie Hughes holds entries with Roberto Goldback 11st 4lb, Black Apalachi 11st 3lb, Rare Bob 10st 9lb, In Compliance 10st, Vic Venturi 10st and yesterday said "Roberto Goldback is probably entitled to have that sort of weight on his level of form, but I think Black Apalachi's weight is a disgrace. He hasn't run in almost two years, he's a 13-year-old now and they haven't dropped him a pound. He’s been round Aintree four times and has been unlucky a couple of times, but he can't be as good a horse as he was two years ago. The owners will be very disappointed and we'll have to have a think about whether we run him now.”"Rare Bob will probably run, along with Roberto Goldback. The other two are going to struggle to get in."
Willie Mullins is represented with 12 entrants and among these is the only mare entered in the race Blazing Tempo who has received a weight of 11st 4lb. Gowran Park Thyestes winner On His Own has received a nice weight of 10st 11lb.
Despite the absentee of the injured Oscar Time, Robert Waley-Cohen and his son Sam look to be represented by the high – class hunter – chaser Roulez Cool who has been allotted 10st 5lb.
Ted Walsh thinks a lot of his horse Seabass and the nine year old has got a weight of 10st 12lb.
Tom Taaffe’s Treacle who was supplemented for the Hennessy Gold Cup at Leopardstown last Sunday and finished third looks set to also take part having received a weight of 10st 8lb.
Other notable entrants include the Noel Glynn Becauseicouldntsee, 2009 winner Mon Mome who sprang a 100/1 surprise and John “Shark” Hanlon’s Kerry National winner Alfa Beat.
