Cheltenham Festival Tips

Following a busy weekend with Cheltenham Preview nights, Cheltenham fever has no doubt kicked in. A large crowd attended a preview night in Maynooth with an expert panel lead by Paul Nolan, John Carr, Patrick Mullins, Robbie McNamara, Ryan Mc Elliott and Adrian Mc Guinness. The panel seemed to argue on a few things but the nap of the night came from Robbie McNamara who claimed that his mount Alpha Beat would run a close race in the National Hunt Steeplechase.

Alfa Beat is best priced at 6/1 with betpack.com.

Sadly the news broke on Monday that Charles Byrnes, World Hurdle contender Solwith would miss the race as Byrne’s reported that he worked badly at a piece of work at his Limerick base. The race has Big Bucks as a short favourite but my advice is to back Fiveforthree each way at 12/1 with betpack.com.

In other Cheltenham news it was great relief for Donald McCain when he found out that Jason Maguire won his appeal and is able to ride the unbeaten Peddlers Cross who will try and beat off the competition of Binocular, Menorah and Hurricane Fly.

The betting for the Gold Cup is steaming up with a little bit of money creeping in for Kauto Star who is now priced at 7/1 from 8/1. Another horse that is well talked about is Neil Mulholland’s Midnight Chase who is priced at 16/1 and has proven that he is a Gold Cup contender by winning his last 4 starts

Ruby Walsh has yet to make a winning comeback but no doubt he will shortly and having a few fancied rides at Cheltenham means that he will be in contention for top jockey at the festival.

Betpack.com was the 1st to go non runner no bet for Cheltenham and has enhanced daily specials for everybody.
