World number three Westwood said: "Rory has never won here, Tiger's not won here since 2005. Phil Mickelson might have something to say about it being a two-horse race. Luke Donald (14/1 to win 2012 US Masters) might, I might."
World number two McIlroy (11/2 to win 2012 US Masters) looked like winning at Augusta last year until he crumbled to a closing 80, falling from four ahead to 10 behind winner Charl Schwartzel. However, two months later he won the US Open by
Louis Oosthuizen is intent on starting his 2012 with a successful defence of his Africa Open crown when the European Tour tees off on Thursday. Oosthuizen was a relatively unknown name in Europe before he demolished the field to win the Open Championship by seven shots at St. Andrews in 2010. Since then his stock has risen considerably and his win in this event last year proved he
Downpatrick Preview and Selections
Irish racing moves up north to Downpatrick where the first off a seven race card goes to post at 3:30.
The opening Tayto Maiden Hurdle looks a wide open contest and has attracted twelve runners. Colm Murphy’s Crazy Days made a nice hurdling debut at Down Royal last time out and looks set to run a big race whilst the Adrian Maguire trained Teak should not be ruled out, however following his recent flat win at Killarney, the Paul Flynn trained Rusty Halo looks a solid each way bet with Paddy Mangan booked to ride.
Claragh Native will try and defy top weight and win the Allied Bakeries Handicap Hurdle but the Arthur Moore trained six year old won’t have it his own way as View From The Top and Breeze With Ease look lively contenders.
The Philip Rothwell trained Fairwood Massini has been knocking on the door on his last few runs and Declan Bates claims a valuable seven pounds off the weight and this should make all the help and he should run a big race in the Proctor And Gamble Maiden Hurdle.
Gordon Elliott saddles Definite All Star looks set to run a big race in the Moy Park Beginners Steeplechase. Paul Carberry takes the ride and he surely looks set to improve from his third at Kilbeggan.
Andrew Lynch can get off the cold jockeys list if Shernaz takes the Linden Foods Handicap Steeplechase for trainer Jim Dreaper. One Fine Morning looks the main danger from the Ronald O’Leary stable.
Bridgets Pet can make amends to his unlucky Kilbeggan second in the concluding Unilever Flat Race under Mikey Fogarty.

Happy Punting – Giddy Up
The final major of the Golf year has arrived as Atlanta plays hosts to this year’s USPGA. The PGA was last held in Atlanta in 2001 where David Toms won that event on 15 under par with Phil Mickelson runner up. This time around the course is tougher with the bunkers moved to trap the longer hitters, and the water hazards have been expanded.
The conditions have been hot and humid meaning the course will play firm and fast. Accuracy will be vital as it will be important to attack the greens from the fairways as it will be difficult to stop the ball on the sloping greens from the long grass. The Americans look for their first major winner of 2011, while the Europeans look for a hat-trick. Ones to watch this week include the following:
No. 1 Luke Donald Win 14/1
World number one, very consistent winning the World Match Play, BMW, and The Scottish open this year. In 2006, he was joint leader after 3 rounds so he can handle the course. His excellent short game and temperament can lead to another European victory.
No. 2 Zach Johnson E/way 35/1
A major winner already, Zach looks ready to add to his collection and this course may well be up his alley. He has an excellent short game and patience to plot his way successfully around this track. Sixth last week at The WGC so form is solid with 3 top twenty finishes in his last 3 starts.
No. 3 Webb Simpson E/way 66/1
Webb is in superb form week to week on The PGA tour and has also finished in the top 20 in both The US Open and The Open. He is long and accurate and leads the tour for all round stats. He may not have a winning track record but at 90/1 may be worth a E/W bet.
No. 4 Anthony Kim E/way 80/1
Kim has now fully recovered from his wrist and at the Open he stormed up the leader board, almost unnoticed as he was playing with Phil Mickelson, to finish tied for fifth. Since then he had a top 20 finish in The Greenbrier Classic and could be worth an big each way chance this week.
