Tony Martin will bid to land the Ebor Handicap at York on Saturday with Ted Veale and the sole Irish challenger looks to have strong claims for the county Meath handler.
This year’s Cheltenham County Hurdle winner only recorded a victory at Bellewstown on Wednesday evening and is set to be turned out quickly again with a 4lb penalty for the valuable handicap at the Yorkshire venue with Fran berry booked to ride.
Ted Veale is currently 8/1 with BetPack.com whilst currently the Sir Michael Stoute trained Opinion heads the betting at 5/1.
Sun Central (10/1) will bid to defy top weight for trainer William Haggas whilst a tear would definitely be shed if the Lady Cecil trained Tiger Cliff (7/1) could land the spoils.
David Simcock is set to saddle three runners with Sheikhzayedroad joint second favourite in the betting at 7/1 whilst Montaser and No Heretic are both available at 16/1.
The Ian Williams trained Genzy, who ran well in the Geoffrey Freer last week will be ridden by Richard Kingscote and is available at 14/1.
David O'Meara who saddled a double at the Yorkshire track on Thursday will be represented by Tropical Beat. The five year old son of Beat Hollow will be ridden by Daniel Tudhope and is a 16/1 chance with BetPack.com
An interesting stat to bear in mind when punting on the race is that the winners from the last four years were all over the odds of 10/1 and two of these were Irish trained.
